Choosing the right surfboard is very important, especially for people who surf for the first time. A board that is too small will not have the necessary volume and stability to allow an average swimmer to paddle into the waves. Our Surf Taxi Penichesurf school and surf rental in Peniche offers services to accomodate individual needs. We are happy to advise you on the right equipment adjusted to the prevailing surf conditions. Wir bieten Surfbretter in allen Formen und Größen zur Miete an. Für Anfänger eignen sich Softtop-Surfbretter zwischen 7'0 und 9'0 Fuß (2-3 Meter) am besten. Softtop-Bretter liegen noch dazu sehr stabil im Wasser und haben viel Volumen. Ihr Design ermöglicht ein einfaches Paddeln in die Welle und erleichtert das Aufstehen. Dank ihrer weichen Oberfläche sind sie beim Surfen sicherer und verhindern schwere Verletzungen. In the intermediate and advanced surf course, you will get a hard top surfboard. More advanced surfer you are the shorter board you're going to use. We don't only asses your level of surf. Body weight and height are important factors, too. Our Torq surfboards work really well if you want to improve your surfing. They are sturdy and durable boards (compared to fiberglass). They are responsive and carry enough volume to facilitate paddling and take offs. With these boards you can learn how to ride parallel along steeper waves and do basic maneuvers. More experienced surfers choose their board according their taste, riding style or adapting to the particular wave and surf conditions. Some surfers prefer the comfortable longboard with its retro charm, others want their board to be as short as possible so they can perform radical turns, snaps or areal tricks in the critical sections of the wave. If you are a seasoned surfer in need for a proper surfboard while hanging out in Baleal or Peniche, hit us up! We have a nice selection of handshaped, custom surfboards, at a small additional cost.
Wetsuits are made out of neoprene, which is a synthetic rubber. The neoprene is then formed and sliced into sheets. There are different types of neoprene rubber but the neoprene used in surfing wetsuits are lightweight and are easily stretched. A wetsuit ensures that you don't get cold while surfing, even after spending hours in the water. The Atlantic Ocean in Portugal has temperatures of about 14-20°C all year round, which means no surfing in bikinis and boardshorts. Our new Janga wetsuits are 3mm overall. For colder days we have 4/3 wetsuits, with a thickness of 4mm on the body and 3mm on the arms and legs, available. They are thick enough to keep you warm but thin enough to not block you in your mobility while surfing. There's an other benefit of wetsuits, they can protect you from injuries and lower the impact of any hit you may get during surfing. Our wetsuits are available in all sizes. If you visit Peniche in the mid or low season (from October to May) you might experience harsher weather conditions. If you are concerned about the cold, consider wearing neoprene hoods and booties. Unsere Neoprenanzüge werden gut gepflegt und bei Bedarf ausgetauscht. Um sie sauber zu halten, werden die Anzüge nach jeder Surfsession gründlich gespült. Nach den Sessions trocknen die Anzüge an der Luft, geschützt vor direktem Sonnenlicht. Unsere Neoprenanzüge werden zwischen den Surfkursen mit geeigneten Produkten desinfiziert, um Infektionen oder Hautausschläge zu vermeiden.
