ACCOMODATION
If your travel by plane and your destination is Peniche, you can opt to book your flights to Lisbon or Porto Airports. The nearest international airport is Lisbon and is about 90 km south from Peniche. Most bigger European cities are have direct flights to Lisbon, most of budget airlines offer flights at good fares.
During low season (from October to April) when the swells are consistent and waves are often pumping, with a little luck you get a round trip flight on a budget. The following budget airlines are flying to Lisbon and Porto:
Bringing your own surfboard should be easy, since usually all airlines offer to take sports equipment, including surfboards, for an additional fee. You can expect to pay between 30-70 euros/route. Always check the maximum weight allowed in a boardbag because this greatly varies at each airline.

TRAVEL BY BUS
If you don't have a car, taking the bus is the easiest way to get there. Buses usually run every hour between Peniche and Lisbon. The fare is about 4-7, - € and the trip takes just 1 1/2 hours. Getting from Lisbon to Peniche by bus is so convenient, easy and inexpensive that a private airport pick-up is rarely worth it. Sete Rios bus station sells tickets at the counter in the station, just a few steps from platform 1. On the Rapida Azul buses, you buy the ticket directly from the driver. (Buying tickets online or in advance is unnecessary and not cheaper than on the spot).

HOW TO GET TO THE BUS STATION FROM THE AIRPORT?
The bus station called "Sete Rios" can be reached directly from the airport with the Aeroshuttle number 96. The ride costs €3.50 and takes about 15 minutes. Taxi is relatively cheap and the trip from the airport to Sete Rios would costs about €10. So if you share a cab with a friend, you will not pay more than by taking the public transport.
To the bus station called "Campo Grande", taking the taxi is always the best solution. This bus station is only 10 minutes drive from Lisbon airport and usually does not cost more than €7. Please keep in mind. At night or when carrying excess luggage, such as a surfboard bag, the price of the cab can quickly double!
PRO TIP: As at many airports around the world, the starting price in the taxi queue in front of the Lisbon airport's entrance is usually a few euros more expensive. Save the extra airport fee by just walking 100 meters towards the exit gate to the first bus stop after the roundabout. There's a good spot to stop a cab and save a few euros.

TAXI
When you need a comfortable and fast transport to and from Lissabon, or when you want to get from Peniche to Baleal quickly, cabs are the best choice for you. The taxi rates are considered relatively cheap compared to other European countries. Taxi service in Peniche does not have a central office or number. If a taxi driver not available, simply try the next one and do not despair. Taxi drivers may speak a little bit of English or German. You might finds cabs at the bus station. The ride costs about €12. If you book it in advance, the cab from Peniche would cost about €100. A Lisbon taxi driver, however, would charge at least 150€ to bring you to Peniche.
